Classical lateral flow assay kits offer great advantages due to their rapidity and practical uses. Otherwise lateral flow assays kits use nitrocellulose membrane. Current LFA kits can perform one analysis at a time generally. The paper, a new method and material design, which can be used in lateral flow assay kits, have been made diagnosis like nitrocellulose materials. In the study, the material developed as cryogelic filling material has been synthesized horizontally, it was characterized and designed for multiple analysis. The column material, which is used vertically as filling material and allows fluid flow because of its micro-sized pores, additionally allows liquid flow through its micro pores in the horizontal plane. For characterization of macroporous polymeric surface that allows liquid flow, SEM photographs were taken, swelling test, pore test, flow test and protein adsorption test were performed. In scanning electron microscopy photographs, pore sizes are seen to be 24–26 µm. As a result of the swelling test, the macroporous polymeric surface indicated swelling character of 216%. It was determined that the macroporous polymeric surface, which was determined to have a pore width of 66%, conducts 200% fluid transmission. 855 mg/g albumin adsorbed to macroporous polymeric membrane. Based on these data, it is imagined that the recently developed polymeric membrane can be utilized as lateral flow immunoassay kits in point of care systems for multiple analysis. © 2022 Elsevier Ltd
